Greetings, and a Quick Update

Dear Readers,

I hope you are having a very blessed an joyful week. :)

Just a little note to say, thank you for reading my stories. I enjoy writing them for you.

I've enjoyed my little break from any major writing, and am ready to continue writing the stories which God gives to me.

While I enjoy writing, I am not so keen on the promotional side of things, which means using social media. I have been struggling with it, and praying too. I hope to have reached a more peaceful trusting place. I am reminded that Christians can use social media to share the Gospel and to bring Jesus into a dark world. The platforms we now have are one way to do this. Just as long as we use them with God's wisdom.

With this in mind, I have made a new FB page, the purpose of which will be to share posts from the blogs.

I am also on Instagram and Pinterest. (Update: I am no longer on Facebook or Instagram.)

Please consider sharing the stories with friends and family.

Lots of love and prayers,

Alison

Ps. In case you have not read it yet, all chapters of Beth's Story have been published on the blog.

Islamondo, is also up. It is a fun fantasy poem with a message.

💜😊💜

The Searching: A Free Inspirational Story

The Searching: A Free Inspirational Story Dear Readers, Here is a gift from me to you. "The Searching" is a story which has been puttering around in my heart for awhile. It nearly didn't get written though, as I was a bit unsure as to whether I could get it to work. But God is faithful, and He gave me both the inspiration and the words. There were a few times when I nearly gave up, but now, I'm so glad that I didn't. It's one of my favourites, and I hope that you enjoy it too.  *** Previous cover The Searching: A Novella *** By Alison Lawrence *** Copyright Copyright owner: Alison Lawrence. 2024 All rights reserved. The Conversation. A Free Short Story

The Conversation  Gavin was so absorbed in his book, that he barely noticed that the train had stopped at a station. "Mind if I sit here?" He looked up. A young woman with friendly freckles across her nose and wide brown eyes stood in the aisle. He nodded, then smiled faintly and she quickly stowed her large backpack. "I'm Sybil." The young woman offered. "Thanks." "No problem. Travelling to Barton?"  "Nope. It's Dunmore I'm headed for. You?" "Same." Gavin was cautious. He wasn't sure he felt like a chatty companion. He'd been looking forward to finishing his book. It had hooked him from the first chapter. But thankfully, Sybil didn't bubble on. She just smiled before taking her own book out.  Gavin went back to his reading, not without noticing that it was a Bible that Sybil had opened. Unusual.   Sybil glanced towards him. She liked to study people, and would often strike up a conversation in the ho...

Poems, Photos, and a Glimpse of my Garden.

Poems, Photos and a Glimpse of my Garden Rest of soul and peace of mind are hard for you  and me to find: Until we rest our  hearts in God; strength will falter, days grow hard A new day to pray, to love and give, A new day to serve, to work and praise, A new day to soak in Your precious peace I wish I could go back to all the happy days: to hold on to those moments, and sing a song of praise. Love and kindness I would bring, and serve the Lord much more. I truly wish it could be done through an old and hidden door. But since I cannot go back, to those sweet and bygone days, I'll give to Jesus all my heart so He can change my un-nice ways *** Copyright: pencil in His Hand *** St John's creeper New growth.
