Poems from my Heart

Poems from my Heart Putting on the Brakes I'm slowing down breathing, stopping, Long enough to say Thank You I'm putting on the brakes: walking  not jogging resting not scrolling Long enough to  say Here I am: send me *** Happy Happy day! Oh Happy day! I go along, I sing, I pray Working, working, all day long It's He who makes me joyful, strong *** Message Here's a little song Just a few lines long It's only purpose is to say: My Jesus lives, He is the Way! *** Copyright: pencil in His Hand Ps: I will post episode two of The Waiting Room tomorrow, God willing. I'm aiming to post an episode on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. See you soon! :)

The Waiting Room. Episode One: Tara. Free Serialized Story

A free serialized End-Times story A serialized End-Times story Introduction Dearest Readers, In the following post as well as the next few, you will meet some new characters. All are living as we are, in what we call the church age: the time period from Pentecost to the Rapture.  Article on Got Questions . The Rapture is the glorious event when Jesus will fetch His Bride. (All who belong to Him.)  Some of the characters will be searchers, others will be believers, and I will also include characters who are not interested in God. I am not entirely sure in which direction this little project will go, but I will write as the Lord leads. In the process, I hope to exhort and encourage you, the reader. Blessings, Alison Episode One: Tara As Tara got ready for her date, she glanced at the note tacked up next to the mirror, and wondered for the umpteenth time why her mother had put it there. She puckered her lips and applied "cherry red. " She'd read the note once, of course, w...

Should Christians Only Read The Bible?

Should Christians Only Read The Bible? I should imagine, that if you're anything like me, you would like to have a definite answer to this question.  Serious, diligent Christians who sincerely wish to serve God and to love Him with all of their hearts, souls, and minds, do in fact ask this and many other questions to do with daily Christian living. So, should Christians whose desire is to please God only read their Bibles? (Aside from recipes, messages, lists, instructions, and essential documents, that is.) Must they pass by all of the tempting covers of a myriad Christian novels and non-fiction books? My perhaps unsatisfactory answer, is "perhaps." Now, you may feel disatisfied with this, but hear me out. I say "perhaps" because I really can't tell you what to read or not to read. That is the job of the Holy Spirit. Sometimes, you may need to fast from light reading in order to spend more time in God's Word. You may even have to say no to the writin...

Some Inspirational Poems & A Garden Update

Walking Forward I go Going along slow jerkily I creep forward I'm moving to You *** Every small step a definite decision I will follow You *** Never looking back though Egypt looks so easy Your hand fast in mine *** Times I stop or fall You wait for me to obey gain a victory *** These four poems reflect the walk of a believer. Sometimes our progress may seem snail slow, but always, there is a forward movement, no matter how small. The believer may  stop, pause, falter, or even fall, but he or she does not turn around or go back to Egypt. (Pre- salvation life.)  Because of the constant love and presence of Jesus, the believer is able to keep going along the narrow trail. *** Garden Update There is not a huge amount going on in the garden at the moment. It has been pretty hot for March. I have sown some seeds though, including basil, eggplant, and pansies amongst others. So far, the usual compost tomatoes are coming up, along with a bean. As you can see from the photos, I...

Dearest Lord: Blog Prayer Journal

Mom with V in V's memory corner Dearest Lord, Here I am again Lord. Thank You for always listening and caring for me. I am so aware today of your constant presence within me. I am never alone, never abandoned, never unheard. Whether I write my prayers down, or whether I say them out loud or breathe them within, You take time to listen. Thank You. I love You. Thank You for saving me; for dying for me; for all of us, on the cross. As You know, Mom has been very much on our minds these past days, it having been her very special birthday on the 29th of February. V and I love to put little mementoes and flowers on that day. Will You please tell her we love her? I was thinking about the cats today. I remember how the three of them would sit in a half circle in front of the oven waiting for Mom's famous scones to come out. They would get a little taste. I'm sure that V remembers the cozy scene too. And of coming home from school to a pot of tea and scones or something else. The ...
