The Last Reminder. Free End Times Flash Fiction

The Last Reminder "The world is going crazy, isn't it?" He turns his phone so she can see the news article. "Good thing our country's got a good nuclear program. Looks like it's going to be our only hope" Her smile is sad as she fingers the ring he gave her so many years ago. Part of her wants to keep quiet, but she obeys the prompting of the Spirit. "Our only hope is in Jesus and His soon return." Her voice is soft. Loving. After many mistakes it has gentled. He just grunts and turns back to the article. After a few moments though, he opens his mouth to comment, to say how naive she is, but her spot at the table is vacant. The scarf she was wearing is neatly draped over her chair, and   he catches the echoes of far away trumpets. *** Hebrews 11:5-6 ESV [5] By faith Enoch was taken up so that he should not see death, and he was not found, because God had taken him. Now before he was taken he was commended as having pleased God. [6] And withou...

A Reason To Clean. A Free End Times Story

A Reason To Clean. A Short Story. Grace shoved the book she'd been reading aside. It was time to put her plan into action. She flicked her long silver plait over her shoulder, and looked around her living room. Where should she start? The title of the book, was "Swedish Death Cleaning." Rather morbid, but on point, Grace thought. She really did have far too many things.  Grace grabbed a roll of rubbish bags and tore one off. She was ready. The author had suggested that one should start with the easy stuff: rubbish, junk, old food, and broken items. That would be easy. She moved quickly through the rooms of her moderate home, and threw anything rubbishy looking into the bag. It didn't take too long. She lived alone. Greg had passed on suddenly a few years previously, and now there was only one "G." Grace had finally parted with most of his possessions. Now it was her own stuff's turn. By the end of the day, Grace had moved on to the kitchen drawers as w...

Encourage one Another

1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 Robert Bagramov. Unsplash Dearest Readers,  I just want to keep it really simple today. I want to encourage you in these dark days with joyful thoughts of what lies ahead for each blood bought child of God. It is a command, not a suggestion that we do this. For the Lord has promised to fetch us; to hide us whilst He pours His wrath out upon the earth. No, we are not destined for wrath.  As believers, we experience much tribulation here on earth, but The Great Tribulation is reserved for the unrighteous. I have referred before to a dream I had many years ago, in which I was walking along in much anxiety whilst carrying a heavy load of books. These all tumbled to the ground as I was lifted up to meet my Lord:  Jesus, whom I confess to be my Lord and Saviour. Today, let us all remember that time is short. Like the Israelites when they were about to leave Egypt, we need to be ready, having forsaken all earthly ties. If you are not saved, read th...

The Conversation. A Free Short Story

The Conversation  Gavin was so absorbed in his book, that he barely noticed that the train had stopped at a station. "Mind if I sit here?" He looked up. A young woman with friendly freckles across her nose and wide brown eyes stood in the aisle. He nodded, then smiled faintly and she quickly stowed her large backpack. "I'm Sybil." The young woman offered. "Thanks." "No problem. Travelling to Barton?"  "Nope. It's Dunmore I'm headed for. You?" "Same." Gavin was cautious. He wasn't sure he felt like a chatty companion. He'd been looking forward to finishing his book. It had hooked him from the first chapter. But thankfully, Sybil didn't bubble on. She just smiled before taking her own book out.  Gavin went back to his reading, not without noticing that it was a Bible that Sybil had opened. Unusual.   Sybil glanced towards him. She liked to study people, and would often strike up a conversation in the ho...

Ready for the Rapture. Inspirational Flash Fiction

Photo: A Mc Key Ready for the Rapture Five year old Mason yelled as he ran through the house: "Mom! Sophie! Britt! Jeremy! Logan! Chase! Lily! Where are you?" The little boy had woken up from his nap to find his whole family gone. Had that thing happened that his mom spoke about? Had Jesus fetched everyone but him? "Mom!" Mason pulled hard on the kitchen door and hurtled down the steps. He raced through the small orchard, then came to an abrupt stop. His mother and all of his siblings were gathered in front of the neighbour's fence, admiring a new puppy. "Oh!" Later, as Mason snuggled beneath his covers, he asked his mother the question that had been turning in his brain all afternoon. "Mommy, how can I ask Jesus to take me up in the clouds too?" ***   My Testimony *** Copyright: pencil in His Hand New gardening post

What Is Really Important? Are You Ready For Jesus Return?

What is Really Important? Are you ready for Jesus' return? 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 ESV [13] But we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about those who are asleep, that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope. [14] For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep. [15] For this we declare to you by a word from the Lord, that we who are alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep. [16] For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. [17] Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord. [18] Therefore encourage one another with these words. https://bible.com/bible/59/1th.4.13-18.ESV Philippians 1...

The Waiting Room. Episode Nine: Blessed Hope

A happy ending! :) The Waiting Room. Episode Nine: Blessed Hope Jonah held Tara's hand in his as the two most important people in her life said 'I do.'  Their eyes locked, and he mouthed 'I love you.' Tears threatened her carefully applied make-up, but she didn't care. Thank You, Lord. You are so good. "I do." Robin gazed with open adoration at Grayson.  Grayson's face was alight with love and hope. Time was short. Jesus' return could be any day, but he intended to do things right as he waited. As he and Robin waited together for the Lord. *** As Jonah led Tara by the hand to the dance floor, the light caused the diamond on her engagement ring to sparkle. Jesus' joy bubbled up in her heart. I love You, Lord. Thank You. She laughed as Jonah twirled her around. No, they did not know what the future held, but they had Jesus, and the blessed hope of His return. *** Maranatha, Lord Jesus! The Waiting Room. Episode Five. Katya and Jonah

Free serialized story.  The Waiting Room. Episode Five: Katya and Jonah In a lull during the busy supper time rush, Tara opened the dishwasher. Her friend and fellow waitress, Katya, began loading it with glasses, and flatware. "Why not come with me tonight?" Tara asked brightly. "You've always been interested in the spiritual side of things." Tara knew it was highly unlikely that Katya would agree to go to the End-Time meetings, and would be very surprised if she said yes. She had in fact surprised herself by accepting her mother's invitation to the church meetings.  Katya closed the dishwasher door firmly. "No thank you. I'll go to just about anything except a Christian meeting. Narrow minded people are not my thing, and you know it. Why are you going, anyway? I thought you walked away from the church ages ago." Tara looked over at her customers before answering. They all seemed happy enough. "I guess I started thinking again. You know, ...

The Waiting Room. Episode Three. Oliver

Free serialized story. End-Times. Romance The Waiting Room. Episode Three: Oliver "I booked a table for  two at The Fig Tree." Oliver said as he opened the car door for Tara. "You'll love it." Tara smiled at her handsome date. "It sounds fabulous." Oliver was several years older than she, and already a rock star in the world of design. Tara on the other hand, was still studying at business college and working as a waitress part time. "You've been there before." She said. Of course he had. Oliver was always having lunch with clients. At the best restaurants. "Yes." He flashed a smile her way. Oliver ordered the fig and camembert starter and the couple settled in for a relaxed evening. But Tara found her mind wandering back to where it had been before  Oliver picked her up. "Do you believe in God?" She asked. Her voice sounded loud in the quiet ambience of their surroundings. Oliver's fork clattered to his plate. ...

"Waiting." A Free End-Times Story. Now available as a PDF

Waiting: A Free Pdf Waiting. A Free PDF Our church is hosting a series of teaching on Jesus' return this month, so it seems fitting that "Waiting" should be made available for free. I wrote this short story quite some time ago, but it is still one of my favourites. In it , you will be taken to Bible times, and to a Jewish style betrothal. Beulah is the radiant bride, and she is a picture of the church. Her bridegroom reminds us of Jesus who is our Heavenly Bridegroom. I wrote this sweet romantic story to remind Christians of our Blessed Hope and to encourage them. The same is true for the story today. May you be encouraged and filled with hope as you read it. You may download "Waiting"  here . While visiting my Weebly Bookshelf blog, you may like to check out the other pdf's which I have made available there.  Link: If you enjoy "Waiting," please share the link with friends and family. With love and prayers, Alison 💖🙏🤗

Rapture: A Mini Story.

Rapture. A Mini Story 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 "Our brothers and sisters, we want you to know the truth about those who have died, so that you will not be sad, as are those who have no hope. We believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will take back with Jesus those who have died believing in Him. What we are teaching you now is the Lord's teaching: we who are alive on the day the Lord comes will not go ahead of those who have died. There will be the shout of command, the archangels voice, the sound of God's trumpet, and the Lord Himself will come down from heaven. Those who have died believing in Christ will rise to life first; then we who are living at that time will be gathered up along with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will always be with the Lord. So then encourage one another with these words." Maria listened intently to the preacher as he read the passage from the Bible. I don't remember reading that ...

Our Blessed Hope. An End-Times Poem.

Our Blessed Hope My feet are lifting off the ground, I hear the clearest trumpet sound Around me, others fly away, rejoicing on this glorious day We leave the chaos down below, and all the evils of our foe We fly to Jesus through the air, Our loving Bridegroom's over there Away we go to heavenly home, to gather all round Father's throne A day of rejoicing has begun, as we praise Father, Spirit, Son Then day of dread falls on the earth, but we are saved through second birth For seven years our Father hides, His Son's redeemed and spotless bride When all is done on earth below, Following Jesus, down we'll go Once Jesus the evil one firmly has bound, The Millenial Kingdom will be found At the end of this, Armageddon will come, All evil destroyed from under the sun We will live forever on new heaven and earth, Praising the Lamb for His matchless worth, Ever Praising the Lamb for His matchless worth Ever  Praising the Lamb for His matchless worth. p.i.H.H (Free to use.
