Shape-Shifters. A Poem

Photo: Pawel Czerwinski. Unsplash Shape-Shifters Shape-shifters spread their lies attacking God's  good plan: Be a goat or be a cat a woman or a man they mutilate the children But God's  wrath will bring an end to all their evil shifting: For God's Word cannot be bent. *** Copyright: Alison Lawrence *** God is patient. He wants everyone to repent and be saved. Call on Him to save you. The truth will set you free. ***

Carried. A Poem

Carried He has carried me Home, He has kept me from harm; For knowing my weakness, and seeing the storm; He has carried me Home, and has kept my heart warm *** Copyright: pencil in His Hand *** Psalm 23:1-6 ESV [1] The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. [2] He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. [3] He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. [4] Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. [5] You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. [6] Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever. https://bible.com/bible/59/psa.23.1-6.ESV

Precious Book. A Poem

Carnival. A Poem. Plus Glimpses of My Garden

Photo: Denisse Leon. Unsplash Carnival The devil's carnival has them trapped in an endless, mindless game. Brainwashed and addicted they never pause to think; to breathe. They don't know that it's part of his evil plot: never let them stop, never let them look up for if they did, they might wonder and ask. They might find God. *** Copyright: pencil in His Hand *** Garden Glimpses Another fruit on my eggplant! Many pomegranates. They keep bopping me on the head. Peppers Julius says Hi! A Monday Collage: A Short Story, Plus More

A short story, plus more Field of Healing The grim memory resurfaced as Faye surveyed her back yard. Still photographs paraded through her mind: black and white, in keeping with the pathos of that day. In one, her mother was drawing up a plan of how she wanted things to be: perfect, neat, pristine, easily maintained. Boring. The next snap shot; an image of her mother directing her father. Her shrill voice accompanying the memory. "No, George, it must be chopped out. Otherwise it will just grow back again and make more work." And, "Yes, I want the grass gone too. I've called the garden services. It's going to cost more than I want to pay, but it will be worth it." The next scene brought the most pain. "But mommy, can't we keep it? Where will the butterflies and ladybirds live if you dig everything up?" Faye had hoped her mother would miss the wild patch of garden behind the shed. She'd always considered it to be hers: a little wonderland o...

Salvation Stories: A Mother. Free Read. Jesus Saves

Dear God, are You there? Do You see me, are You real? I hope so, because You see, I need to get this out, to dump all of  these thoughts on someone. Andy sure doesn't care, and I don't think anyone else does - definitely not the children. They all just take, take, take  I am empty, empty. Dried out, dried up. Nothing left to give, just one long scream and a dripping  and a moaning, that's me. A wife, a mother, a nothing  all around noise, shouting, yelling,  screaming, sometimes them and sometimes me, and the never-ending piles of washing, dishes, toys, where will it end? Where can I find a moment of peace, a pleasant place, my sanity. And Andy, he is like one of the  children; demand, demand, demand, 'til all I want to do is run, run, run. But that's not what good wives  and mothers do, is it God? Are You there? Do You hear me  calling, calling, calling. Please help. I can't  do  this  anymore. Do You care? About a nobody. A...

Islamondo: A Poetic Fantasy

Islamondo A Poetic Fantasy By Alison Lawrence Introduction This is the tale of two young men, who sailed the seas beyond their ken Full of hope and full of cheer, not knowing much of dark nor fear They had to steer their tossing vessel, to prove their strength and test their mettle Their true Creator was their guide, through every trial and test and tide Although their hearts near failed and quaked, they saw that He did not forsake But as He led them through each test, He helped them to attain their best And when at last He brought them home, They saw they'd never been alone And so I pray that my God would, help this tale be all it should. Chapter One Venturer and Emir Set out Venturer set forth on a perfect day, with the wind behind him, he followed the way Of many a seafarer gone before, to adventure guided by tales and lore In the spring of his robust and carefree life, having neither own home, children, or wife A youth who was tall, brown-skinned, and fair, emanating to all a...
