April Letter
Citrusdal viewApril LetterDearest Readers, I hope that you are all well and happy and filled with Jesus joy as we go hopefully into cooler weather here in the Southern Hemisphere. As some of you may know, in March, we went through a rather severe heat wave, which was hard on everyone. I will include a poem inspired by it in this post. Also in March, our family went on a week end break to a town called Citrusdal in the Western Cape. It was truly enjoyable. I am including some photos from the trip in this letter. It was very hot there too, but we had the blessing of air-conditioning and a large pool. :) Thank You, Lord. :) On our way back, we stopped a coastal town called Eland's Bay. You can see a sketch I made whilst there further down. I am going to leave off writing now to go and bake some shortbread, but later on, I will finish this letter by adding some poems. Love and blessings, Alison xxx Joy in the FurnaceTaking little sips of joy throughout the heat of day; little steps of faith, as I look to You and pray. Drawing from Your strength, as parching sun beats down: resting in Your lovely shade til Your mercy floods our town. *** Lovely TimeIt's hard to write of a lovely time, for fear of getting it wrong. It's hard to write of a lovely time, but the feel of it lingers, just like a song. *** Still SingingDo I still have a song? Do I still have a poem? Do I still have some joy to give? As I plod through my day, as I work and complain, is it all about me again? Yes, I still have a song, yes, I still have a poem, yes, I still have some joy to give: Though my day is long, and the storm so strong, I have hope; for my Jesus lives. *** |
